I’m not sure about you, but recent years have shown that life’s too short to not be living it (and loving it!), and with all the demands on us and our time, whether we are business owners, managers, leaders, carers, or parents, we know how hard we work, how many plates we have to spin and self-priority isn’t always that easy when the to-do list doesn’t seem to get any shorter.
We feel guilty when we’re at work and then feel guilty when we are with family or loved ones and we can’t help but think of things that need doing.
Getting things done brings such a great feeling of accomplishment, but it can also be overwhelming if the task seems insurmountable. Sometimes, the days just don’t seem long enough to do everything we want to do. When that happens, worry can set in, but it doesn’t have to!
You can do more than you ever thought was possible, and in less time too, giving yourself time to relax and really enjoy life!
It all begins with YOU.
It’s okay if you’re not a good time manager right now, you can learn to be. It just takes a little bit of practice and you’ll soon be getting more and more done and these 5 strategies are going to help you win your week, power up your productivity and get more done (so you can have time to enjoy the life you’re living!)
PLAN YOUR “ME TIME”
Plan your week with activities that support your emotional, physical, spiritual, or mental well-being FIRST.
Remember, the priority in your week should be you, schedule everything into your diary that looks after you, replenishes your energy, and ensures you are OK.
Quick Tips:
Block it out like a meeting: Treat your “me time” as non-negotiable. Add it to your calendar with reminders and stick to it like you would any important appointment.
Schedule your business around your life and NOT your life around your business, changing the focus of time is a key step in working towards achieving time freedom
Pick activities that nourish you: Choose activities that recharge your emotional, physical, mental, or spiritual energy—whether it’s a walk, reading, meditation, or a hobby. Make it about what truly brings you joy and makes you feel better.
Start small, build consistency: If a full hour feels overwhelming, start with 10-15 minutes daily. Consistency over time will help make it a natural part of your routine.
Schedule in life and YOU for maximum benefit.
You can avoid procrastination and the big stressed-out rush to meet a deadline by scheduling each day and using just a bit of self-discipline to stick to your schedule.
Include in your schedule the stuff that supports your well-being, the non-negotiables, and if you have a business, make sure you schedule in time for thought, reflection, review, and strategy.
Quick Tips:
Plan the night before: Take 5-10 minutes each evening to outline the next day. Prioritise 2-3 key tasks and allocate specific times for them, ensuring you stay focused and intentional.
Batch similar tasks: Group tasks like emails, admin, or creative work into dedicated time blocks. This reduces mental switching and helps you stay more productive.
Build buffer time: Add extra minutes between tasks or meetings to handle unexpected delays, refresh yourself, or transition smoothly to your next activity.
Set weekly “CEO time”: Whether it’s for personal life or business, dedicate an hour each week to reflect on your goals, review progress, and refine your strategies for the week ahead.

Disallow doubts from getting in your way.
That little voice in the back of your mind that tells you, “It’s too much work,” or “It’s not going to happen,” doesn’t know what it’s talking about!
Positive thinking, connecting to your outcomes and your goals can really help you along the way without relying on motivation, which really is a fair-weather friend!
Quick Tips:
Talk back to your inner critic: When self-doubt creeps in, challenge it with evidence of your past successes. Remind yourself of the times you’ve overcome challenges and proved that voice wrong.
Focus on progress, not perfection: Shift your mindset from needing to get everything perfect to simply taking the next step. Action breeds confidence and silences doubt.
Visualise success: Spend a few minutes each day imagining what achieving your goal will feel like. Connecting emotionally to the outcome strengthens your belief in making it happen.
Adopt a “why not me?” attitude: Instead of thinking, “I can’t do this,” ask yourself, “Why not me?” Embrace the idea that if others can succeed, so can you. Doubts have no place when you believe in your potential!
Recognise when you’re getting stressed and why.
That tightness in your chest, the racing thoughts, or even snapping at loved ones—they’re all signs that stress is creeping in. Often, we’re so caught up in the moment we don’t pause to notice what’s really going on or why it’s happening.
Understanding your stress triggers and early warning signs can help you take control before stress takes over. It’s not about avoiding stress completely but learning to manage it with awareness and proactive strategies.
Quick Tips:
Listen to your body: Physical signs like tension, headaches, or fatigue are your body’s way of waving a red flag. Tune in and pay attention to these signals.
Track your triggers: Keep a journal of moments when you feel overwhelmed. Patterns will emerge, helping you pinpoint what consistently stresses you out.
Pause and reflect: When stress arises, ask yourself, “What’s really bothering me right now?” Identifying the root cause can help you address it more effectively.
Practice daily check-ins: Set aside 5 minutes each day to ask, “How am I feeling emotionally and physically?” This builds self-awareness and helps you catch stress early.
Eliminate your stressors while building in stress relief.
Stress is inevitable, but staying stuck in it doesn’t have to be. Often, we carry unnecessary stress by holding onto habits, commitments, or mindsets that no longer serve us. The key? Identify what’s weighing you down and balance it with intentional practices that help you release tension and recharge.
Taking small, consistent steps to minimize stressors while prioritizing relief can create a more peaceful, productive life.
Quick Tips:
Declutter your commitments: Evaluate your to-do list and say no to tasks or responsibilities that don’t align with your goals. Simplifying your schedule reduces unnecessary stress.
Set healthy boundaries: Whether it’s at work or in relationships, communicate your limits clearly. Protecting your time and energy is essential for stress management.
Schedule stress-relief activities: Just as you plan work meetings, plan moments for relaxation—whether it’s yoga, a walk, or reading a book. Regular downtime helps you reset.
Address recurring stressors: Identify stress-inducing situations you encounter often. Can they be delegated, simplified, or removed altogether? Tackling them head-on prevents them from piling up.
Remember “Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort” (Paul J Meyer), but it is also about prioritising YOU, your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being and that can be tough, we’re pulled in so many directions, spinning so many plates, juggling so many balls, that it can be hard to manage.
